I bought this book for my football loving boyfriend but have found myself loving it as much as him. 'Why England Lose and Other Curious Football Phenomena Explained' by Simon Kuper and Stefan Szymanski is a brilliant book as it's not just a load of people slating England. It's written by a sports economist and a prize winning football writer, to not only delve into the secret financial aspects, but what really happens on that pitch. Statistics and psychology are used to reveal a new way of looking at football and it has some really good facts for impressing people with.
A great present idea, and can be bought in many bookshops.
